Am I Eligible for Government Energy Grants?

Government energy grants have strict but wide-ranging criteria to make sure support reaches the households who need it most. You could qualify based on benefits, income, health conditions, property type, or energy efficiency.

Qualifying Benefits

If you or someone in your household receives any of the following, you may qualify for full or part funding under schemes like ECO4 or GBIS:

Income Thresholds

Households with a combined annual income under £31,000 may qualify even if no benefits are claimed. Child Benefit has separate income thresholds which vary by household size, for example, single parents earning under £19,900 with one child may be eligible.

Under Local Authority Flexible Eligibility (LA Flex), councils can approve funding for households where medical conditions are worsened by cold housing. Common qualifying health issues include:

  • Limited mobility or disabilities

  • Immunosuppression or chronic illness

  • Properties rated D, E, F or G are classed as inefficient and most likely to qualify.
